Item Description:
Original lot of 2 different historic factory letters, carbon copy produced by Nash and retained by them in their files, 8.5 x 11, 2 file holes at top edge, unillustrated. The first letter is dated October 31 1950 and references a copy of the letter dated October 30, which is attached. Both these letters were sent from George Romney to Harry Costley at Kalvinator in London and Pinin Farina. "What will Healey Company require from us...It would be helpful if you would set up a schedule for these 2 Pinin Farina prototypes ." The letter to Pinin Farina mentions the 2 prototypes including a hard top. "As I understand it for Mr. Costley, you will build the sports model prototype for $1800 and the hard top convertible for $9000..." This is original and was obtained from Nash factory files that I obtained after acquiring the estate of John Conde, long term Nash and later AMC PR head and assistant to George Romney, President for many years.
